Business Administrator

LOCATION: Ndola, Zambia. REPORTS TO: Kharis House Board of Directors and Supervisor STATUS: Full-time    BENEFITS: Yes

POSITION PURPOSE: The Business Administration (BA) position will handle all accounting, financial, business and human resource operations of Kharis House (KH). Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly legal reports to ministry offices, filings of finances and securing and managing all legal documents for the residents of KH. This position reports to Kharis House Supervisor and Board of Directors. The BA will maintain financial responsibilities as needed in collaboration with the KH Supervisor and Board of Directors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.

  • Manage the financial details and payments for the organizations needs such as inventory and supply of organization consumables such as food, utilities, etc…

  • Maintain daily, weekly and monthly transaction records and capture receipts for all purchases.

  • Ensures adherence to obligations under NAPSA, NHIMA, PAYE, ZRA, and applicable local authorities remittances.

  • Reconciling all financial data with bank statements.

  • Ensuring all finance inventory documents are neatly labelled and filed.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and

    Zambian regulations.

  • Manage and keep all records of employees.

  • Guide and advise in collaboration with the Supervisor issues relating to the Labor Board/Annual Contracts/Employee Handbook to ensure best

    practices and continued compliance.

    The Employee shall also be expected to undertake any responsibilities as

    may be delegated by the Board of Directors or KH Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

  • Member of ACCA, CIMA and/or CA Zambia.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in payables, receivables, and inventory accounting.

  • Professional Membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountant (ZICA).

  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.

  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word), QuickBooks, software for financial analysis and reporting, Google Workspace.

  • Fluent English proficiency.

  • Ability to meet health and physical requirements of the position.

  • Must be focused and self-motivated to provide accurate and detailed financial reporting.

  • Knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS).

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve discrepancies.
