Hope is Growing:

Expanding to Reach 3 Times as Many Young Mothers in Zambia

In Zambia, 1 in 3 girls ages 13-16 become pregnant, causing many to be expelled from school with little hope of completing their education.

Without intervention, these young mothers face a future of poverty and limited opportunities. And many see abortion as the only answer to finishing their schooling. Thousands of young pregnant teens are culturally discarded without hope or support.

Kharis House provides life-changing intervention for young, vulnerable, pregnant girls in Zambia. Our holistic program offers a healthy, safe, empowering home where girls and their children can find holistic care, professional counseling, discipleship, restoration, and hope for their future through education.

Your giving provides these young mothers:

  • Faith-based mentorship and discipleship

  • Safe, supportive housing for mothers and babies

  • Professional counseling and healthcare

  • Support to continue receiving an education

  • Life skills and parenting training

When I came to Kharis House, the love and care I was given is what started giving me hope for the future.
— Roydah, Teen Mom

Through partnerships with local schools, churches, government organizations, and NGOs, we empower young mothers to become contributing members of their families and communities while honoring the sanctity of life for both mother and child.

Currently, we have no more room for girls who need Kharis House. Our current campus serves 12 girls and 12 babies at maximum capacity. Daily, we receive urgent requests from schools, churches, and organizations seeking help for pregnant teens. Recently, one school alone reached out about 34 pregnant 7th graders needing immediate support.

God has provided an opportunity to purchase the adjacent property, allowing us to expand our capacity to serve 32 girls and their babies. Our model demonstrates that with proper support, young mothers can complete their education while raising healthy children, breaking generational cycles of poverty.

Our vision is to build a campus that is specifically designed for the holistic care we want to provide that will greatly enhance our ministry and help propel us to achieve our vision and mission.

  • Phase 1:

    • Property acquisition: $300,000

  • Phase 2:

    • Construction of homes and purpose-built facilities: $700,000-$900,000

You can help reach more vulnerable girls. Your investment in the expansion of Kharis House will nearly triple our capacity to transform lives, from 12 to 32 mothers and babies. Every dollar invested helps two generations: a young mother who can complete her education and her child who will grow up in a stable, nurturing environment.

You can reach more vulnerable girls in Zambia by helping to expand Kharis House.
